What an amazing night it was! Venue, seating, sound everything was perfect and was organized well. I must say DePaul PSA really worked hard for this event. I was there the whole day and saw them preparing for the show. Even Salman really enjoyed the sound and kept playing. His scheduled time was 30 minutes but he was there on stage for about 60-90 minutes easily. His guitar's string broke before the last song so he used one of the student's guitar to end the show.

Here are some pictures and videos from the show, enjoy!

Thanks for posting the videos and pic!!

I was wondering what u guys think of Chatterjee's son who has been touring with Salman now.. Honestly, I loved Sameer Chatterjee's tablas but I don't think his son is as polished. In the Dallas Mystical Journey concert, his tablas were bothering me cause it seemed like it was limiting Salman and they were constantly playing catchup. I don't think most of the crowd may have noticed it but seeing Salman perform for years, I could tell how the chemistry was missing. In my opinion, Salman should stick to Sameer Chatterjee and not the son.

^ I agree with you, but then again, filling Sameer's shoes is a very very difficult task indeed. Sameer and Salman are just incredible together.

The Sameer touch is definately missing as I can tell by comparing the videos from Northwestern and DePaul. I think his son needs a lil more practice to get more feel for Junoon songs.

Thats true, I keep urging him to play Al-Vida and Masjid Mandir, but the problem is, anything other than that, the crowd has no idea what hes singing. It worked in Oberlin, as most of the crowd was white, and they were real music fans, danced to just about everything, but with a desi crowd it'd be hard getting them to connect to new songs, something which Ali realized too, despite his 'abhorrence' for old songs.

^Also, I personally think songs from infiniti cant be played alongwith tabla. There are some crowd attracting songs but then again, tabla wont do justice to them.

yaar if he can butcher couple of U2 songs at junoon concerts then he can definitely play classics from talaash and inquilaab Smile most of the desi who come to salman ahmad concerts are very familiar with Junoon's stuff..
