Salman's statement on Mekaal:
Hey JUNOON and MEKAAL HASAN watchers! We, Salman and Ali are really proud to announce the inclusion of the young and talented Mekaal Hasan on the upcoming Junoon tours as SPECIAL GUEST ON ELECTRIC BASS. Out of all the young guns in Pakistani rockdom, I've got the most" pull" for his professional approach, musical knowlege and an off-the-wall punjabi sense of humor! It was all decided one night after a gig in Lahore when Mekaal,Ali and I were hanging out at Yousuf Salli's haveli in "androon shehr". As we were listening to Nusrat Fateh Ali at Allama Iqbal's grandson's place where I had jammed with Mick Jagger in 1996,Mekaal said that he needed some direction and mainstream exposure... a light bulb went up in my head and I said "hey man want to do some Junoon gigs while Brian sorts out his personal lifel ?" Once he was assured that this will add to his role as leader of MH band he said "theek aye sir jee let's do it!" THIS IS GOING TO KICK ASS PEOPLE!On the upcoming Junoon/Cybernet Pakistan tour Mekaal's going to be given the Junooni initiation (can't disclose what it is!) all I know is this tour is going to ROCK PAKISTAN!!welcome aboard MEKAAL-MAN!! |

May be those are the deep dark secrets that Yasir guy is talking about lol. As long as Salman is a part of Junoon I m sticking with them. |
