Salmans thoughts on infiniti...
APRIL/MAY 2005 infiniti
The title infiniti has to do with us humans living a paradoxical life.we
limit ourselves in relationships on the basis of materialism,power and a
narrow vision of love and life...we think we are defined by our skin,bones,
hair ,our winnings, our losings or our guitar riffs...the irony is that
we're infinite beings who are here on earth for a short journey....our
imagination is unlimited and our power to change our environment is immense.
Most of the music deals with the fallout of interpersonal
relationships/living in a polarised world and trying to straddle the east
west divide/ through the music on infiniti is a continuous search for beauty
and truth /and a yearning to communicate with people a message of hope and freedom amongst the chaos.in fact hope and despair coexist in the music on this album
Junooni is my parallel persona to our mother ship Junoon.it's me living in a
new creative environment,playing with ninja musicians and dear friends John, Jay and my old percussion sparring partner Ashiq ali mir...while living in new york for the last three years I've felt a new hunger and energy within me...I've got symphonies playing in my head,I'm musically BORN AGAIN!
Infiniti is a guitar based album,it's a lot heavier than some of the recent
junoon music.I'm trying to breakdown preconcieved notions of what an artist should be labeled as...passion and truth speaks through all sounds,all words and all masks...
I HOPE YOU LOVE LISTENING TO INFINITI AS MUCH AS I'VE ENJOYED MAKING IT WITH SUPER MUSICIANS AND HUMAN BEINGS.
P.S. THERE'S A SECRET VOCAL MESSAGE ON THE ALBUM IN ONE OF THE SONGS...IT'LL SHINE A LIGHT ON WHAT'S HAPPENING IN MY HEAD...

INFINITI IS A TIME OF PERSONAL MUSICAL GROWTH AFTER MANY YEARS OF BEING ON THE BAND TREADMILL.I THINK BOTH ALI AND ME DESERVE A LITTLE INDULGENCE,DON'T U THINK?
