I have the pics on an internet photo album now!
Thanks Shan Khan for the advice!!
Unfortunately, these are not good pictures. I'm using a new camera, and I'm not a good photographer to begin with...I tried not to use flash that would distract Salman, so they are dark...but if you click on the pic to get it bigger you can see the figures a little clearer...
you'll get an idea, anyway! enjoy

Nice..
The pics aren't that bad, a couple are blurry, but overall they're great. Thanks.
It's too bad he uses the Peavey now, I love the Paul Reed Smith Salman has. |

An email from a Professor at Stanford to sufisal
From: Wendy Abraham
Subject: Spectacular Performance at Stanford!
Date: Wed, 15 Feb 2006 14:51:45 -0800
>Dear Salman,
>
>Hopefully by now you've reached your next destination after a good flight.
>I'm also hoping this is the first post-Stanford e-mail you receive telling
>you what a phenomenal performance you gave on Monday night.
>
>
>
>Anyway, I've been listening to your CD (thanks so much for autographing it
>for this getting-older-by-the-minute groupie) and have fallen in love with
>the "ta na na na na" song (forgot the name). I'm so glad I can hear it in
>the car regularly now, since everyone has to drive so much in California.
>
>Okay, on another note, what do you think of the idea of coming back to
>Stanford to not only perform again but to conduct some kind of special
>event or even seminar or workshop (lecture series? lecture/demo?) on Sufi
>music East and West?
>
>You have such an amazing way of connecting with Westerners and opening their
>eyes (and hearts) to the Sufi tradition through contemporary sounds, I have
>a feeling they'd love to have the opportunity to actually study the
>connection between the philosophy and the music itself with you directly in
>between actually hearing you play.
>
It would be great to have some kind of "Salman
>Ahmad Road Show" between Stanford, Berkeley, and some other area colleges
>with Music programs. You're the perfect person, as well as the perfect
>musician, to be able to connect to and enlighten Westerners on all this.
>
>Hope to hear from you whenever you have a chance, although I'm sure you're
>swamped with your continuing gigs and adoring fans. Just something to mull
>over in the meantime, though.
>
>Best,
>Wendy
>
>P.S. - I'm still not quite sure what all the
>fuss about A.R. Rahman is. Maybe I just don't "get" Bollywood yet, which
>is true, but I think there's so much more of a direct impact on the soul
>and the psyche by hearing and seeing you play in person. Of course the
>focus is completely different, but I think I'd
>rather hear one of your concerts than see one of his films.
