SALMAN AHMAD INVITED BY JIMMY CARTER TO FAITH AND FREEDOM CONFERENCE, SEPT 6
Former US president Jimmy Carter has invited Pakistani rock musician and U.N. (AIDS) Goodwill Ambassador,Salman Ahmad,to come and address the delegates of the Faith and Freedom human rights conference to be held at the Carter Center in Atlanta on september 6-7.
Salman will speak and also screen his documentary film on Pakistani culture and politics followed by a live unplugged performance of his Sufirock music for the delegates which include global human rights activists,diplomats,social entrepreneurs and college students from Atlanta,Georgia.

I checked the carter center website and salman is playing on thurs. at 7 pm but I don't think it's open for public...I guess this is invitation only   |

It was an awesome performance..the main audience were the participants for the "faith and freedom" conference and Salman's performance was supposed to be a post-dinner treat...people in the audiance included Former President Jimmy Carter and this wife. Salman performed with Sameer Chatterji and Dr. Samina set the whole place up....
here's what he played:

Sayonee
Imagine
Overall, I gotta say Salman has made enormous progress in the area of vocals and his rendition of "imagine" was just simply awesome...I'll upload the pics and the video of teh performance soon. This was a cozy environment and felt great. Later I got to meet him and I probably talked to his wife for a good hour before and after the show. She's a smart lady! |
